New CQS Management Standards Go Live

The revised requirements of The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) came into effect on 1st May and, in an effort to show that it is a genuine standard to which firms must adhere – as opposed to one to which lip-service only is given – will be backed up desk-based assessments and on-site visits by the Law Society.

To assist firms in achieving compliance with the Scheme’s requirements, Infolegal has updated its Office Procedures Manual so as to ensure that it contains provisions designed to satisfy the new Practice Management Standards which form part of the CQS, and has been actively assisting member firms with achieving compliance through consultancy and drafting assistance.  For more information about the help we can provide please contact Matt Moore at mattmoore@infolegal.co.u

Those wishing to learn more about what is required of them can now also turn to resources provided by the Law Society.  The Society have now launched a series of podcasts aimed at explaining elements of the Scheme.  These include:

  • Introduction to CQS,
  • Updates to the Core Practice Management Standards,
  • Supervision and operational risk management,
  • File and case management, and
  • Desk-based assessments and onsite visits.
